Embracing Growth: How Spring Symbolizes Personal Renewal
Nature and seasons are always changing. In each season of life, we have a choice to either embrace, adapt and or resist the ongoing changes of life. Spring symbolizes personal renewal and growth. Springs provides an opportunity to think about and reflect on your own mental health and well-being journey. What changes have you noticed in your daily life? If you look back three months ago at the beginning of spring; what are the changes you see? What was your life like compared to where it is now? We often lose track of the growth and progress we are making.
It is crucial that we take some time to reflect on this as we can gain insight. This insight could continue to inspire us to more growth and healing. Or if we are not progressing as much or at all it may be time to seek support or change our current approach. Here are some signs that point that you may be growing -even if you are not completely aware that is growth or progress.
1. The things they used to bother a lot bother you a little less. You have noticed yourself being less triggered. By things, person or places that used to trigger you now are more manageable.
2. You could notice yourself making improvements in your daily habits. Things as basic and simple as you're eating better, you're sleeping better, or you're taking more breaks at work. These small changes build momentum over time. Keeping up with daily self-care if the foundation for the deeper, long-lasting mental Wellness.
3. As we have more daylight and days seem longer. Have you utilized the time in helpful/healing ways? For example, are you doing more social self-care (time with friends, family, etc.)? Are you doing more spiritual self-care (meditation, prayer, nature, etc.)? If you are utilizing this extra daylight time in positive way this is definitely a sign that you're growing and making progress this spring.
4. Have you noticed yourself setting better boundaries? Regarding people or places. that drain you and affect mental health. This could mean better boundaries at work, with toxic family members or friends. Or even better, boundaries with social media.
5. Can you give yourself praise and credit for your growth this spring? Specially the positive changes you have made in the last three months. This is crucial, as we often neglect to acknowledge our own progress. It is a lot easier to praise others than ourselves. My hope for you is that you are eventually able to be your own best friend and give yourself recognition for your progress over time.
